STRESS

Well, today I’m here to share some of my experiences in helping students to handle stress. Hmm… I understand that students nowadays are loaded with dozens and tons of works. And I won’t be surprised if some of the students are encountering serious problems – committing suicide, running away from homes… These are common in our recent society. Why do these problems occur? One important reason is that the students don’t know how to handle stress. The first thing that you can try out is to have your time table beautifully managed. What I mean is…. Oh for God’s sake, don’t put only what you have to do in your time table! Put in some recreational activities! You can also have someone that you trust to listen to your problems. One thing that students nowadays like to do is….they like… they like no one to talk to….and this is not because they don’t have friends but they like to keep everything within themselves. And believe me you’re going to explode one day. The next thing that you can try out is… go and travel. You can always have some short distance trip to go on. Ask some of your friends who are also interested, just go somewhere to picnic, have some fun! Or, if you’re the type of shy girl and shy boy, you can keep a diary or journal. Just pour out everything that you feel good or bad through writing. Some of my clients will burn or tear off after they have written everything in a piece of paper. And this makes them feel better. Well, you can try out that too. One of my neighbours’ son has got an idea in dealing with stress too. Whenever he’s in stress, he’ll sing out loud. But I’m not sure whether this is a good idea as he actually disturbs the neighbourhood. So what I can suggest is… just go to a quiet place where no one is there and sing out or shout out loudly. This may not only help you but it will not disturb others also. Ok, what I’ve just said are some of the suggestions in handling students’ stress. It depends on individuals. Some works, some does not. Anyway, if you still feel stressed up after you’ve tried each and every method, my advice is go to see a counselor. He or she will help you in better ways. Thank you and wish you have a healthy lifestyle!
